Overview

Vim’s Individual Onboarding feature lets individuals within providers connect to their EHR quickly — no practice setup, no IT coordination, and no admin involvement. This self-service process is ideal for individual (solo) practitioners who want fast, secure access to any apps available in Vim’s Application Marketplace directly from their EHR, or independent users within provider organization.

What Is Individual User Onboarding and Who Is It For?

This onboarding path is designed for:

  1. Individual (solo) healthcare providers whose EHR supports Vim integration; or
  2. Independent users within provider organization

*If you’re part of an existing practice or group account on Vim, please onboard through your organization’s Vim Console instead.

How to Get Started

Step 1: Visit the Onboarding page of the application you want to access via your EHR.

Step 2: Enter and Verify Your Work Email

  • You’ll receive a verification email to confirm your identity.

Step 3: Review the Application Terms of Service

  • Read through the application’s permissions and legal terms. By installing the application, you agreed to such terms and permission. 

Step 4: Select Your EHR

Step 5: Log Into Your EHR

Vim will detect your account and activate your application automatically — no manual setup required.

If you already use Vim:

  • You’ll be redirected to the requested app’s page in the Canvas™ Marketplace once you login to your ehr.
  • Simply follow the steps to review and approve the installation.

If you belong to a practice that already uses Vim:

  • Your app access will follow your organization’s marketplace distribution settings (auto-add or approval required) managed by your organization’s Console account owner and admins.

What If My EHR Isn’t Supported?

If your EHR isn’t supported, you’ll receive an automatic email notification with next steps.

Can I Add Other Users to My Account?

Individual (solo) accounts cannot add or invite other users themselves.
If you need to create a multi-user or group setup, please contact Vim Support to open a ticket.
